Keep every naira you earn. Pay ₦1,200 a day.

Ryde takes no commission on any trip, ever. Drivers pay one flat daily fee and keep 100% of every fare, every tip, every surge.

Signing up takes a phone number. Papers come later.

A Ryde driver and a passenger talking beside his car on a Lagos street

You drove ten hours. Somebody else took two of them.

Commission scales with your effort, so a good day on the road is a good day for somebody else. Ryde charges one flat fee for the day and then stays out of the fare.

Zero commission, enforced

Not a promotional rate. The platform fee is fixed at zero in the database, so changing it isn't a settings toggle — it's a change to the business.

You name your price

Passengers post where they're going. You bid what you'll do it for, with your name and rating attached. A bid is final once sent, so nobody undercuts you after it's been seen.

Reviewed, then frozen

Licence, NIN and vehicle particulars checked by a person. Your plate, make and colour are frozen once approved, so the car a passenger looks for is the car whose papers we saw.

What you get for ₦1,200

Every fare, in full

No percentage, no service fee, no deduction at settlement. The passenger pays you.

₦0 taken

Your own price

Bid what the trip is worth to you. The passenger chooses from named drivers.

You set it

Cheaper than the rest

The nearest subscription rival charges ₦1,500 a day. Others still take a percentage.

₦300 less

A yard, one login

Own several cars? One account, earnings per vehicle, and every subscription paid in one checkout.

Fleet ready

Named bids, not a mystery driver

Say where you are going and drivers nearby answer with a price and their name. You see what each one is asking, how far away they are and what other passengers made of them, and you choose. Nobody is assigned to you and nobody is hidden from you.

The fare you agree is the fare the driver is paid. Ryde is not standing between you with a hand out.

The Ryde app: choosing a ride class and asking drivers to bid, and the home screen with saved places

₦1,200 per day. Nothing else.

Out of ₦20,000 of fares in a day

₦18,800 is yours, on Ryde

₦16,000 is yours, on an app taking 20%

Ryde Commission apps
Taken per trip ₦0 7–20% of every fare
Paid for the day ₦1,200 Nothing upfront
Kept on ₦40,000 of fares ₦38,800 ₦32,000 – ₦37,200

It pays for itself at roughly ₦6,000 of daily fares. Below that, a commission app is cheaper and you should use one. Above it — which is most working days — you keep more, and the gap widens the harder you drive, which is what the second row of figures is. A 20% commission benchmark is assumed; your own numbers will differ, and the break-even is what matters.

Uber left in September. Somebody is going to replace it.

Questions worth asking

Does Ryde really take nothing from my fares?

Nothing. The platform fee is constrained to zero at the database level, so it can't be quietly switched on later. Our revenue is the ₦1,200 a day and only that.

What happens if I don't drive for a few days?

You pay for the days you're active. A lapsed subscription stops you receiving requests — it doesn't accumulate debt or lock your account.

How do passengers know I'm real?

Every driver submits a licence, NIN and vehicle particulars, reviewed by a person before approval. Your plate, make and colour are frozen once approved, so the car a passenger is told to look for is the car whose papers were checked.

Who can see my phone number and my location?

Your number reaches a passenger only while a trip is live, and theirs reaches you the same way. Your position is visible to a passenger you're already driving and to nobody else — not other drivers, not a fleet owner, not the public.

I own several cars. Do I need several accounts?

No. One fleet account covers every car, pays all their subscriptions in a single checkout prorated to one date, and shows earnings per vehicle. Your drivers keep their own accounts and their own money.
